Former CH scout reveals major trade proposal between Montreal and New Jersey

Yesterday, the renowned Darren Dreger (TSN) revealed that a crazy thought is starting to circulate among National Hockey League executives:

Imagine if Kent Hughes actually gets his hands on the New Jersey Devils' second overall pick, to draft the top two spots.

Now that it seems to be getting a little more serious, former Montreal Canadiens scout Grant McCagg has put forth a big trade proposal to that effect:

"Could the Devils actually get into discussions to acquire Jeff Petry...and what would it take to get them to part with the second overall pick? Their GM needs to start winning quickly (if he wants to keep his job) and he needs a defenseman. I would start the discussions with Petry, the 26th overall pick and Norlinder. I don't know if that would appeal to them (for the 2nd overall pick)." - Grant McCagg

That would be big! So, if we summarize, former scout McCagg proposes this:

To MONTREAL: Second overall pick

TO NEW JERSEY: Jeff Petry + 26th overall + Mattias Norlinder

Do you think this would be enough for the Devils GM, would you?
