Several rumors have surfaced in the last few weeks about Jack Eichel's future destination. If the Vegas Golden Knights were the favorites a few days ago, it could be that the Ducks have passed.

Anaheim has removed forward Jakob Silfverberg from their roster. The 31-year-old winger had a great start to the season with 8 points in 9 games.

Currently with over 12 million dollars under the salary cap, the Ducks could very well welcome Jack Eichel and his 10 million dollar contract. For his part, Silfverberg commands a contract of 5.25 million until 2024.

According to NHL Rumours Daily, three teams would still be in the race in the Eichel derby: the Ducks, the Golden Knights and the Calgary Flames. Of these three teams, Anaheim has the most space under the salary cap.

As for Buffalo, despite Eichel's absence, Don Granato's team is currently playing without a complex, with a record of 5-1-1.

Silfverberg has 315 points in 614 games in his NHL career. The former second round pick in 2009 has never reached the 50 point plateau in 9 NHL seasons.

It will be impossible to see a one-for-one trade, but if the Ducks add a few draft picks and prospects, the Sabres GM may well take the deal.

It seems more and more obvious that Jack Eichel will not play any more games in Buffalo, he is suffering from a neck injury suffered last March.
