The journalist Martin Leclerc, from Radio-Canada, seems to be excessively well informed in the Pierre-Luc Dubois file and, for the past few days, he has been revealing some really interesting information.
We now know why Dubois was present, in the Bell Centre, during the 2022 NHL draft:
Yesterday, Leclerc had some news, as reported by GoHabsGo.com College:
"Pierre-Luc Dubois was present at the draft, it was even thought that the trade would be announced on the floor. When the deal was announced to have the thirteenth overall pick in hand with the Islanders, there were some people in the Dubois clan who thought he was the key piece missing in the deal. We really thought we were close."
So when Gary Bettman appeared on the stage of the Bell Center, to announce a major trade involving the Tricolore, Dubois and his relatives really believed that it was there. Finally, Kent Hughes had just acquired Kirby Dach.
Pierre-Luc thought he had a confirmation of his change of address at that moment and that the thirteenth pick that had just been obtained would be used to acquire the young center. In the end, he will have to wait until his wish (to play in Montreal) becomes a reality.
One thing is certain, there is a lot of smoke in this file and clearly, those close to Pierre-Luc Dubois believe that a trade could be imminent.
