Why not? For the simple reason that we believed that there was no interest in him in the NHL, but it seems that this is not the case! We love it.
Very interesting new information.
According to what TSN's highly regarded tipster Darren Dreger just reported, NHL teams have shown interest in Montreal Canadiens forward Mike Hoffman.
Hughes has received calls for Hoffman. A trade is possible at this point.
Dreger says that, yes, there is interest, and Hoffman could really be traded by the Habs in the coming weeks, but there will not be any overbidding either (especially because of his contract of $4.5M annually for this year, but also for next season)
Hoffman still has six points in his last seven games, and many teams want to add a winger who can produce.
If he continues to perform and produce like this, Kent Hughes could possibly receive a surprising return, in exchange for Hoffman.
See his goal from yesterday, by the way:
In 37 games this season, the 33-year-old Ontario native has 17 points.
