On Tuesday night, the Montreal Canadiens faced the Tampa Bay Lightning and, meanwhile, Canada regained a crushing 11-2 win over Austria. Connor Bedard showed the world he was sensational with a total of four goals.
With this feat that certainly left its mark on the imagination, Bedard became the first 16-year-old to score four goals in a single game at the World Under-20 Championship. Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby didn't even do it when they were 16.
"Most of my goals came close to the net, I just had to put my pallet on the puck. Everyone makes it easy when you play with them. It was a good game for our team and I'm lucky to have had those goals!"
Honestly, if there are still people comparing Bedard and Shane Wright, throw it away right now. It's not even a comparison. Bedard is a generational talent like Connor McDavid. Wright is not labelled that way, in my view.
