Connor Bedard and the CH: Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton must be frustrated today

With what is happening with the Montreal Canadiens, especially with the staggering number of important injuries, many observers and fans are focusing on the next season, and especially on the next NHL draft.

In addition, the CH was seriously on track to draft two top-10 players, as well as having two lottery picks for Connor Bedard.

The Habs do have two first round picks in 2023, the team's and the Florida Panthers'.

In recent weeks, the Panthers were really slacking and were in the bottom half of the overall NHL standings.

However, that is changing.

Much to the displeasure of Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes, the Panthers are now ranked 18th in the National Hockey League, and in their last ten games, they have won seven.

If the Panthers make the playoffs, unfortunately, the Canadiens will only have one chance to get Connor Bedard, first overall, plus their second first round pick will be quite a bit further down the line.

And this year, the difference between an 8th overall pick and a 15th overall pick is huge.

In short, it's a case to watch, but the Panthers' comeback certainly doesn't sit well with the CH bosses.
