Just ask the Winnipeg Jets and the Calgary Flames, who seem to be losing their best players left and right.
Anyway, we're talking about Cole Caufield here because he just sent out a powerful message.
In an article shared by the esteemed Pierre LeBrun, the journalist delves into the issue of star players leaving Canadian teams, and Caufield was asked about it.
He sent a clear message.
He loves the Canadiens' fans, he loves Montreal, he loves the organization, he loves the logo, and it was an easy decision for him to sign long-term.
He goes further (and we love him even more for it):
"If you don't want to be here [in Montreal], then leave. That's the mentality we have."
- Cole Caufield
Boom! We love it!
It reminds us of a few ex-CH players, as pointed out by Charles-Alexis Brisebois:
"Obviously, it's worth noting that Jeff Petry, Ryan Poehling, and Rem Pitlick all requested a trade since the GM change and Kent Hughes sent them all to Pittsburgh.
Is this what Caufield is talking about? Possibly, yes."
