Last night on TVA Sports, insider Renaud Lavoie dropped major news.

It's causing quite the stir, to say the least.

While on the JiC show, Renaud discussed the future of star player Trevor Zegras and a potential change of address involving him!

Let's remember that Zegras is still without a contract for the upcoming season, which starts very soon. He hasn't been able to reach an agreement with the Ducks.

«There are rumors that Buffalo could be his next destination.»

Wow, imagine how big that would be!

"Are the Ducks playing hard to get [with Zegras]? Do they want to break him? I've heard there's a team looking his way, and it's the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres have to make the playoffs this year, and you solve your problem by bringing in Zegras." - Renaud Lavoie

So, it seems like a serious possibility, but it's still in the realm of possibility.

Zegras wants to sign a three-year contract, but the Ducks don't want to offer him the amount he's asking for. In fact, the two sides are still very far from an agreement.

Training camp has started in Anaheim, and Zegras is noticeably absent.

Zegras, 22 years old, scored 65 points last season and 61 points the season before.

One thing's for sure, the Sabres have the quality prospects in their bank and the necessary draft picks to successfully acquire Zegras.

A situation to keep an eye on!
