The National Hockey League has just approved the sale of the Ottawa Senators.
It's a historic day for this franchise, which is now transferred to Michael Andlauer, a well-known entrepreneur in Montreal.
Andlauer, who had shares in the Canadiens organization (10%) and who notably participated in the hiring of Kent Hughes as general manager, thus becomes the owner of the Senators.
You can guess that he will therefore divest his shares of the Canadiens.
See the official announcement on the NHL's website:
Andlauer, a minority shareholder of the Montreal Canadiens since 2009, quickly found a buyer for his shares, as reported by Renaud Lavoie:
"According to several sources, the shares held by Michael Andlauer within the Canadiens have been bought back by the current shareholders of the franchise. So there is no new investor." -Renaud Lavoie, TVA Sports
So, that would already be settled.
There will be a press conference tomorrow to answer all questions on this subject.
