Cole Caufield: a punching bag to be?
With the Montreal Canadiens' disastrous start, fans and the media are slowly starting to look for blame. Years go by and history repeats itself. The youngsters are being blamed a lot. This was the case with Jesperi Kotkaniemi in the past who was constantly being hammered.
Fortunately for him, he gained some peace of mind by leaving Montreal. However, who will be the next one to suffer the wrath of everyone if the club doesn't get back on track?
Grant McCagg, a former NHL scout, has hinted that Cole Caufield could be the next youngster to get bullied. The expectations placed on him before the season started were immense. However, he's only 20 years old and he doesn't seem to have carried his game from the last playoffs into this season.
McCagg points to the CH's veterans rather than the youngsters in the early part of the season. According to him, they are simply invisible, they will have to give more. Who could he be referring to? Jeff Petry? Tyler Toffoli?
One thing is for sure, the entire CH crew will have to get back on track very soon, because the boat is going to sink sooner or later.
