Chantal Machabée is asked about the next CH captain and her answer is very interesting
As part of her generous interview with 91.9 sports, Montreal Canadiens vice-president of communications Chantal Machabée agreed to discuss the case for the club's next captain.
Once again, she was very transparent:"That, I think it's clear that it won't happen right away. It won't be this week, I don't think, at least. It's the coaching staff that's going to be involved in that discussion there and they're going to analyze that. We will have the majority of the coaches during the week of the draft, so the first week of July. Will the discussions take place there? We'll see. I think the draft is a priority right now." - Chantal Machabée
To find out a little more, Chantal was asked if the famous unveiling could take place at the team's golf tournament :
"Probably! It could be. It could very well be. I'd see it there, probably. I know right now they're focused on transactions and the draft. The captain, that's a little further down the list, rightfully so." - Chantal Machabée
This gives a great idea! Right now, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton are focused on trades and the draft, but at the traditional golf tournament, there could be a great announcement about the future captain.
