On Wednesday afternoon, an official announcement was made about the World Under-20 Championship: CANCELLATION. Let's say it hit, and then a number of people rose up, expressing their frustration.
But, as Eric Macramalla pointed out via his Twitter account, this tournament was doomed to failure. It may be frustrating that it was cancelled, but it was heading straight to a wall before the hostilities even started.
"The players of the World Juniors sharing hotels (including elevators) with the general public, it is incomprehensible. This tournament was doomed to failure," said Macramalla.
Okay. That's done. From there, what's plan B? Is there a special idea coming out of your hat? According to the excellent Louis Jean, the idea that would be discussed secretly would be the holding of the WJC at the next Olympics.
