Canadiens picked the wrong year to have a bad season

Over the past ten years, the Montreal Canadiens have had the opportunity to draft in the top three twice, in 2012 and 2018. The prospects of those years were not as high as those of 2004 and 2015, for example.
In 2012, Nail Yakupov was the first choice in total, then the CH turned to Alex Galchenyuk (3rd) that year. In 2018, Trevor Timmins and Marc Bergevin selected Jesperi Kotkaniemi 3rd overall. The first choice of this draft was Rasmus Dahlin.
However, the 2018 draft was bigger than the 2012 draft, but Bergevin completely missed the train by choosing «KK» instead of a player like Brady Tkachuk, a warrior and a captain of heart. But we can't rewind the tape.
That said, as Grant McCagg pointed out, whether or not we agree with him about Shane Wright (that he is not an exceptional), he is not in the left field: the Montreal Canadiens are heading for a high-ranking choice, while the pool for the next auction is not very high.
We're talking here, even though the Habs can't control his performance on the ice surface, they picked a bad time to go downhill.
