Bettman and the NHL Deliver the Verdict on the Noesen-Slafkovsky Head Hit Controversy
One of the sequences that drew attention for the wrong reasons, during the most recent match between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Montreal Canadiens, was the dangerous contact between Stefan Noesen and Juraj Slafkovsky.
Fortunately, the young Slafkovsky seems to have avoided the worst and feels fine, after having to retreat to his team's locker room for a while.
The verdict is in on Stefan Noesen, after his hit on Juraj Slafkovsky
Unfortunately for Canadiens fans, even though there was clearly contact to the head and even though Noesen doesn't seem to be playing the puck at all, the verdict has just been announced.
We suspected it with the NHL's radio silence yesterday, but it has just been confirmed.
Noesen will not face any penalty for his hit on the young Habs forward. No fine and no suspension.
Do you believe that's the right decision by the NHL and George Parros?
Many fans were calling for a penalty and are disappointed today. Was it an illegal hit to the head?
In any case, the league has decided and chosen not to take action. Noesen won't even have to explain his actions.
