Auston Matthews is affected by Frederik Andersen's departure

Auston Matthews and Frederik Andersen had a great friendship as the two arrived at the same time with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The two players were always together and shared a ton of magical moments as teammates and friends. However, those moments won't be relived anytime soon from now on as Freddy Andersen signed a new deal with the Carolina Hurricanes yesterday.
Following the signing, Matthews couldn't help but share a ton of precious moments between the two men via his Instagram account. So here are a few shots of those moments between them :
Yes, it's sad to lose your best buddy, but that's the reality of professional sports. There are business decisions, players opting for money and/or comfort (not a criticism), which creates a lot of movement.
In short, Matthews and Andersen are both professional players, so they will be able to move on quickly to focus on their respective teams.
