With some notable departures among the Tricolore's forwards, Marc Bergevin had no choice but to be active this summer. The general manager got his hands on some good forwards like Cedric Paquette and Mike Hoffman.
Another addition that could prove to be extremely interesting is Quebec forward Mathieu Perreault. A former 6th round pick in 2006, the former Jets forward has 344 points in 683 NHL games.
The Drummondville native will be entering his 13th season in the Bettman circuit. Perreault has surpassed the 40-point plateau four times since the beginning of his career. He also has five seasons with at least 15 goals.
On 91.9 Sports, Antoine Roussel commented on the CH's latest acquisitions. The Coyotes' forward had nothing but good words for Mathieu Perreault.

"He is a player who is underrated. For me, he's one of the best Swiss Army knives in the NHL. He can do everything. I've been playing against him for a long time, since I was a junior, and he's always really impressed me."
Perreault, who plays both center and wing, will certainly be useful to his coach Dominique Ducharme in case of injury. The 33-year-old forward is also capable of playing on the power play and has 38-career goals when his team has the man advantage.
"It's a really nice acquisition that will add depth. If you have a guy who is injured, he can start on the first line and it won't even look like there's an injured guy," said Roussel.
Perreault, who signed a one-year contract that will pay him $950,000, does not represent any risk for the Canadiens. Even at this price, this contract represents a bargain for the Habs if you take into account his offensive skills.
It will be interesting to see in which chair Mathieu Perreault will be placed at the beginning of the season. However, it's a safe bet that the Quebecer will become an important player for the Habs sooner than later this year.
