There are two interesting pieces of information we know that have been confirmed and are causing quite a stir. First, Kent Hughes and the Canadiens are listening to offers for forward Josh Anderson (Note that Anderson will not be traded unless the offer is truly extraordinary)

Second, we also know that the Edmonton Oilers are very interested in acquiring Anderson.
Knowing this, one observer has put forward a trade proposal between Montreal and Edmonton. This is the basis of a trade that he believes would make Kent Hughes say "Yes". For this to happen, the Oilers will have to be aggressive.
So here is the suggestion in question:
TO EDMONTON: Josh Anderson
TO MONTREAL: Prospects Philip Broberg and Xavier Bourgault + a second round pick.
That would certainly be enough, according to many, but do the Oilers want Anderson that bad? That's the big question.
What are your thoughts on this trade proposal?
Broberg, 21, the 8th overall pick in 2019, has 23 points in 31 AHL games this season and 3 points in 23 games with the Oilers.
Bourgault, 19, 22nd overall in 2021, had a solid 75 points (36 goals) in 43 games this season with the Shawinigan Cataractes (plus 22 points and 12 goals in 16 playoff games).
In our opinion, this would be too much money for the Oilers. While Anderson has excellent value and could really help them, it's still probably too high a price.
However, it's still an interesting question to ask. What kind of trade would you see happening between Montreal and Edmonton?
