Even though Marc-Andre Fleury gave four solid years of service to the Vegas Golden Knights and won the Vezina Trophy last year, that didn't stop the Nevada organization from treating him like dirt.
When the Quebec goalie was traded last July, it was through social networks that he was informed of the trade to Chicago.
Well, we learned today that it was indeed voluntary that the Golden Knights staff stopped all communication with the most recent Vezina winner.
The team's leaders wanted to get back at the Fleury clan because the agent of the Sorel goaltender, Allan Walsh, tried to abort the transaction by mentioning that his client would retire.
It's a sad way to treat a player of Marc-Andre Fleury's caliber. Moreover, Knights owner Bill Foley added to that by mentioning that the ultimate goal is to make the team win. The businessman also said that the team comes first and the player comes second.
In short, we can really question the way this organization treats these players. The good news for Marc-Andre is that he is starting a new chapter in his career with the Chicago Blackhawks. Let's hope for him that he will be treated better in the Windy City.
