Sad announcement from the Colorado Avalanche involving Jonathan Drouin
As you know, Quebecois forward and former Montreal Canadien Jonathan Drouin is having a great season with his new team.
Apart from a 2-3 week rough patch, Drouin has been a regular in the top-6 of the Colorado Avalanche, amassing 12 goals and 38 points along the way.
Aside from his performances, one aspect that was crucial for Jonathan and was going very well so far this season, was his health status.
Drouin managed to completely avoid injuries up until this season, but unfortunately, that has just changed.
After a long streak of 64 games without injury, his longest in five seasons, it has just come to an end.
Jonathan Drouin injured in the lower body
This was announced by the Avalanche organization last night:
"Drouin will not play tonight for the Avalanche. Lower body." - Jesse Montano
Casey Mittelstadt took his place on the power play and will have the chance to steal his spot.
It's a situation to monitor, but let's hope it's not too serious for Drouin, an injury that comes at the worst possible time for him, and it's really unfortunate.
Drouin, 28, will be a free agent this summer and has accumulated 38 points, including 12 goals, in 64 games this season. He earns $825,000 this year.
