Last summer, Patrice Bergeron agreed to a new deal with the Boston Bruins and it is likely that he will finish his career with the team that drafted him in the second round of the 2003 draft.

After his team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last spring against the Carolina Hurricanes, some rumors mentioned that it was quite possible that the Bruins captain would announce his retirement, but after much reflection, he accepted a new deal with the Bruins and let's just say that he should not regret his decision.

The team is currently ranked second overall in the NHL and the 37-year-old is having a great season with 20 points in 23 games.

As reported by Marco Normandin of Habsolumentfan.com, Bergeron was the guest of Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman on Sportsnet's 32 Thoughts podcast, and during that interview, one question in particular caught our attention.

When asked if he would ever consider playing for another team, his answer was surprising to hockey fans.

That's a great question. I'd really have to think about that. It would be really hard for me to leave the Bruins but if there was one place I would consider, it would be Quebec City. Absolutely."

Wow! As we know, Bergeron is a native of the Quebec City area and was a Nordiques fan when he was younger. However, since the return of the Nordiques is no longer so much on the horizon in the short and medium term, he will most likely finish his career with the Boston Bruins.
