We have a major development on the NHL trade market, and it's an interesting one for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.

There are so many trade rumors floating around right now, but today we have solid and confirmed information!
The Utah Mammoth have informed other NHL teams that the 4th overall pick is available for trade!
This is the perfect opportunity for the Montreal Canadiens to get their hands on young Caleb Desnoyers.

The Montreal Canadiens Are Getting to Work and Doing Their Homework with the Utah Mammoth

This makes things extremely interesting heading into the draft.
David Pagnotta: "The Utah Mammoth are shopping the 4th overall pick in the 2025 draft for a young top six forward"

- The Fourth Period»
This really changes a lot heading into the draft.
Now.. Do the Utah Mammoth consider Michael Hage a top-6 forward? Do they consider Kirby Dach one?
Obviously, more would need to be added, but just know they want (at minimum) a young forward who could play in a top-6 NHL role as part of the deal.
Would some even consider including Juraj Slafkovsky in such a trade?
Caleb Desnoyers, 18 years old, is a 6-foot-2, 178-pound center projected to go around the fourth overall pick.
This season in the QMJHL, with the Moncton Wildcats, he put up 84 points in 56 games, including 35 goals, and added 30 points in 19 playoff games.
