In exchange for Gaudreau, the Wild receive Seattle's fourth-round pick for this Saturday (102nd overall).
"Gaudreau to Seattle for a 2025 4th-round pick."
- Pierre LeBrun, TSN
Gaudreau, 32, is a solid 6-foot, 184-pound centerman who tallied 37 points in 82 games this season with Minnesota (18 goals).
He earns $2.1 million per year through 2028, after which he'll become an unrestricted free agent.
He's an excellent third-line center with a good, affordable contract, making this a great deal for the Seattle Kraken.
Given that Seattle is loaded with centers, one has to wonder if this move is setting the stage for another trade..
It would definitely be worth it for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton to reach out to Seattle, just in case they're open to dealing a younger center.
More details to come in the next few minutes.
