Canadiens Reportedly Working on Trade Involving Carey Price's Contract, Cost to Do So Revealed

It's not a huge surprise, but Marco D'Amico touched on an interesting rumor involving Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.
Kent Hughes is reportedly working to trade his contract as early as this summer.

He even adds that this could benefit both sides.

A Trade Involving Carey Price's Contract Is Reportedly in the Works in Montreal
It could literally be announced at any moment.
In Shea Weber's case, it happened just before the draft (on June 16), so Price could face the same fate in the coming hours.
As Kevin Vallée recently explained (on DLC), by trading number 31's contract, the Canadiens would free up nearly 20 million dollars in cap space.
That's no small matter!
As for the price to pay, the most recent deal involving Shea Weber's contract - completed between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Utah Mammoth - cost Utah two prospects, and they picked up a 5th-round pick in return.
So that gives a pretty good idea.
Carey Price, 37, played 712 career games in the NHL - all with the Montreal Canadiens - posting a 2.51 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage (with a 361-261-79 record).
It would be unfortunate to see him traded, but either way, he will have played every game of his career in a Montreal Canadiens jersey.
