We have another major trade to announce. After the trades involving Patrik Laine and Rutger McGroarty, the surprisingly busy month of August continues in the National Hockey League.
This time, it's the Nashville Predators and the San Jose Sharks who have completed a major trade.
According to some sources, there were a few teams in the race to acquire the highly promising goaltender Askarov, including the Montreal Canadiens, the San Jose Sharks, and the Utah hockey team.
In the end, it was the Sharks who won the bidding.
Yaroslav Askarov, 22 years old, is a young right-handed goaltender, standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 178 pounds.
He was the 11th overall pick in 2020 (1st round) and recorded 30 wins and 13 losses last season in the American Hockey League.
In two NHL games, he posted a goals-against average of 1.47 and a save percentage of 0.943.
