In the last few minutes on TSN, during his "Insider Trading" segment, the renowned insider Pierre LeBrun revealed exclusive information regarding a possible trade involving David Savard.
Will the Canadiens (Kent Hughes) trade David Savard?
On this topic, LeBrun spoke to very well-informed sources, he probably spoke to Kent Hughes directly, and he reported the following:
"LeBrun on Insider Trading: «I don't believe the Montreal Canadiens want to trade David Savard, I think they value him for all kinds of reasons within the organization. If someone sends them an offer that really makes them think, then yea, he could be dealt but at the moment he's not a player the Habs bring up to other teams, they're not committed to trading him" - Pierre LeBrun, via NHL Watcher
So, that's where this big file stands.
If Savard is to be traded, it would take a significant offer and a solid return.
One might think that a trade offer similar to the one made by the Florida Panthers two years ago for Ben Chiarot would make the Habs' general manager seriously consider it.
For a 1st round pick and a 4th round pick, would you trade Savard?
