Two Edmonton Oilers defensemen have just been identified by journalist Bruce Garrioch for a Sean Monahan-type trade.
As you know, the Oilers are currently in a tough situation, as they have until next Tuesday to match the two offer sheets made to Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway.
And indeed, Ceci is one of the two names raised by Garrioch, but now the name of Brett Kulak, the former Montreal Canadiens player, has also been mentioned.
«Two defensemen have been identified, according to Bruce Garrioch of the 'Ottawa Citizen,' as candidates for a trade: Cody Ceci and Brett Kulak. [...] According to Garrioch, a first or second-round pick might be necessary to convince a team to finalize a potential trade involving Ceci or Kulak.»

So don't be surprised if Cody Ceci or Brett Kulak is traded by next Tuesday in a deal similar to the one between the Montreal Canadiens and the Calgary Flames in 2022 (for Sean Monahan).
Do you think this could be a great opportunity for Kent Hughes?
Brett Kulak, 30 years old, is a left-handed defenseman standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 192 pounds. He recorded 16 points in 82 games last season with the Oilers.
He earns $2.75 million per year until 2026.
Cody Ceci, 30 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound defenseman. He recorded 25 points in 79 games last season with the Oilers.
