Jake Allen traded by the Canadiens? Pierre LeBrun confirms and announces a nice surprise
During his recent column on BPM Sports, the renowned insider Pierre LeBrun, from TSN, had some news regarding the possible trade of goaltender Jake Allen.
He spoke to other NHL teams that confirmed they are indeed interested in acquiring Jake Allen.
However, it might still have to wait a bit. (probably because of the salary)
"Teams have told the Canadiens they will inquire about Jake Allen in June, if he's not traded before." - Pierre LeBrun on Allen, BPM Sports
It is also worth mentioning that Kent Hughes has publicly confirmed that he is shopping for a trade for a goaltender (probably Allen), and importantly, he has announced that the team will not have three goaltenders next season.
So, this will be resolved this summer, at the latest!
In exchange for Allen, Kent Hughes is asking for a draft pick, and a higher draft pick if he has to retain salary.
A file that we continue to follow closely, then!
Allen, 33 years old, has a record of 5-10-3 this season, a goals-against average of 3.63, and a save percentage of .895.
He earns $3.85 million per year until 2025.
