Wow, that's what I call transparency, ladies and gentlemen.

In a press conference in the last few minutes, the General Manager of the New Jersey Devils, Tom Fitzgerald, outright announced that he will conclude a trade involving a goaltender by Friday. (by the deadline)

At any rate, he's going to try extremely hard.

"Our goaltenders have not been good enough," Fitzgerald said, confirming his efforts to improve at the goaltender position before Friday's deadline." - Via Pierre LeBrun

He thus sends a loud and clear message to other GMs in the league. Very interesting.

Jake Allen traded to the Devils?

Several clues point towards the Montreal Canadiens and Jake Allen for such a trade, especially since Frank Seravalli recently stated:

"Frank Seravalli believes that if a goaltender is going to change teams by March 8, it's Jake Allen."

So, this is a big file to watch over the next few hours, but Jake Allen could truly be traded to the New Jersey Devils.

It's a serious and real possibility, especially following Fitzgerald's announcement. We should expect Kent Hughes to call. (if he hasn't already)

Stay tuned!
