We had plenty of waiver action in the NHL today, notably involving Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens, just days before the start of the season.

We also mentioned that goaltender Brandon Bussi was claimed by the Carolina Hurricanes yesterday, but today, a total of four more players were claimed across the NHL.

In addition to Cayden Primeau and Samuel Blais, note that goaltender Colten Ellis was claimed by the Buffalo Sabres from the St. Louis Blues.
