A name familiar to Montreal Canadiens fans has just been involved in a trade.
Trade alert involving former Montreal Canadien Corey Schueneman
Here's the official announcement from the Capitals:
"The Washington Capitals have acquired defenseman Corey Schueneman from the St. Louis Blues for defenseman
Calle Rosen. Schueneman will report to the Hershey Bears."
- Washington Capitals
Corey Schueneman, 30, is a left-handed defenseman standing 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He was originally signed by the Montreal Canadiens in April 2021 and left in the summer of 2023 after reaching an agreement with the Colorado Avalanche.
Schueneman recorded 6 points in 24 games with the Canadiens in 2022, with a -5 rating, and added 1 point in 7 games under Martin St-Louis in 2023.
It's always interesting to see former Canadiens continue their journey elsewhere, and Schueneman's next chapter begins now. We wish him the best of luck with his new team!
It's worth noting that he also played over 130 games with the Laval Rocket.
Calle Rosen, 31, is a left-handed defenseman standing 6'1" and weighing 195 pounds. He has a solid total of 31 points in 93 career NHL games (7 points in 9 AHL games this season).
