Canadiens and Blackhawks Among Four Teams Reportedly on the Phone Exploring Trades
The insider "Incarceratedbob" is back with exclusive information, and it involves the Montreal Canadiens organization.
In total, he drops four names!
According to his sources, the Montreal Canadiens, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Anaheim Ducks, and the Toronto Maple Leafs are back on the phone!
Yes, the vacation is over for Kent Hughes and some of his counterparts.
The Canadiens and Blackhawks Are on the Phone: A Trade in the Works Involving Carey Price?
It's obviously interesting to see the Anaheim Ducks mentioned here, considering all the rumors surrounding the excellent young center
Mason McTavish.
We talked about that in the following article:
Will this deal happen with Chicago?
It would make sense, considering Carey Price's contract would be very useful for them to reach the NHL's salary floor.
"In chatting a bit with my Saturday contact, I understood that yes, the chances of Carey Price's contract being traded once his bonus is paid out ($5.5 million on September 1st) are high.
At least one team in the league wants to get a guy you pay $2 million in salary (over half of which is covered by insurance) who counts for $10.5 million against the cap."
- Maxime Truman
Is that team the Chicago Blackhawks?
Is Kent Hughes currently on the phone with them, finalizing this trade and preparing everything for September 1st?
We can only speculate, but there's starting to be a lot of smoke here!
I'll just say this.. don't be surprised if it's announced that Carey Price's contract is traded to the Chicago Blackhawks next Monday!
P.S: Who is Incarcerated Bob?
He is a New York radio host who clearly has privileged information, being one of the only ones to announce Martin St-Louis' hiring as Canadiens head coach before it became official.
He also has a few big scoops to his name in the past.
