We've had tons of action in the National Hockey League early this afternoon.

First, we indeed have a waiver claim to announce, as Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens saw their decision simplified by the San Jose Sharks, who immediately decided to claim defenseman Vincent Iorio off waivers!
He therefore never made it to the Canadiens' turn!

Vincent Iorio Is Claimed off NHL Waivers by the San Jose Sharks

He was an interesting player, and clearly, many Washington Capitals fans are very disappointed right now in the comment section.
Iorio thus moves from the Capitals to the Sharks!
"The San Jose Sharks have claimed defenseman Vincent Iorio off waivers."

- San Jose Sharks
Iorio, age 22, is a right-handed defenseman standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 200 pounds. He was a second-round pick of the Washington Capitals in 2021.
He has collected 1 point in 9 NHL games.
As a 6-foot-4 right-shot defenseman, he clearly had an appealing profile.

More Action: The Vegas Golden Knights Also Announce the Signing of Goaltender Carter Hart

Also in the NHL this early afternoon, in terms of roster movement, please note that the Golden Knights have announced the signing of controversial goaltender Carter Hart.
We're talking about a professional tryout contract for now, but it will reportedly turn into a standard NHL deal fairly soon.
"Following the reinstatement decision agreed on by the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association, goaltender Carter Hart will be joining the Vegas Golden Knights organization. The Golden Knights are aligned with the process and assessment the NHL and NHLPA made in their decision. We remain committed to the core values that have defined our organization from its inception and expect that our players will continue to meet these standards moving forward."

- Vegas Golden Knights
The comment section here is... let's just say... something!
One to keep an eye on!
