Wow: A trade of Arber Xhekaj to the Toronto Maple Leafs has indeed been requested by their fans, but forget about it
Since his surprising demotion to the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League, Arber Xhekaj's name has been causing quite a stir.
It's a buzz in Montreal, but also elsewhere in the NHL.
It's no secret, but many fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs have long dreamt of having him on their team, and with Arber's demotion to the AHL, some believe it more than ever.
The acquisition of Xhekaj demanded by Leafs fans
Given Montreal's surplus of young defenders, including Kaiden Guhle, Justin Barron, Jordan Harris, Jayden Struble, Mattias Norlinder, Arber Xhekaj, and potentially Logan Mailloux, Lane Hutson, William Trudeau, and David Reinbacher, they believe it's possible.
Moreover, in Toronto, it's the complete opposite.
Mark Giordano (injured for an indefinite period), John Klingberg (likely out for the season), and Timothy Liljegren are all missing.
They need toughness and really need a defender with a low salary.
It's understandable, because Xhekaj would be perfect for them, but they can forget it! Kent Hughes will very likely not trade Xhekaj, and he will never trade him to Toronto! This needs to stop.
It's unfortunate, but the topic of a trade for Arber Xhekaj is still all over the web today.
No, we would not trade him! Players like him are unique and extremely rare!
