Trade finalized between the Montreal Canadiens and the Detroit Red Wings: Norman Flynn just made a very funny mistake, live
In the last few minutes, expert and columnist Norman Flynn was back on BPM Sports airwaves, and clearly, the media veteran has been able to unwind a bit this summer.
He has unwound so much that apparently, he missed the trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Detroit Red Wings involving Jeff Petry.
During his first column of the season today, look at what Norman just declared:
Jeff Petry, in my opinion, will be traded pretty quickly, because he clearly indicated he no longer wanted to play for the Montreal Canadiens and didn't want to play in Montreal anymore, so it's very likely we'll hear before the season starts that he'll be traded elsewhere.
I doubt he will play a game of the season with Montreal, that's my thought and I believe that's what several NHL analysts also think. [...]
We just need to know where Petry will be traded before the start of the season.
- Norman Flynn
Oops. We'll put that in the bloopers category, as you can guess, it made the fans laugh.
As "Gonzo" rightly points out in the excerpt, of course, Petry has already been traded to the Detroit Red Wings.
"According to Norman Flynn, Jeff Petry will likely be traded before the season starts, and will not start the season in Montreal.
Strong start!"
