Trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Carolina Hurricanes to reunite the Suzuki's? This has just been brought up as a possibility
As he showed again at the most recent NHL draft, notably by drafting Arber Xhekaj's younger brother quite quickly, the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, is not insensitive to the idea of reuniting brother duos.
Florian Xhekaj is an example, and could Ryan Suzuki be another?
Trade between the Canadiens and the Hurricanes to reunite brothers Ryan and Nick Suzuki?
This is what has just been seriously suggested as a possibility, and it is becoming increasingly popular as a proposal.
It must be said that it makes sense.
1- Ryan Suzuki is blocked in the Hurricanes organization.
2- The Hurricanes want to add a goaltender.
3- The Montreal Canadiens have too many goaltenders and need a center player, following injuries to Newhook, Dach, and Dvorak.
4- Ryan Suzuki is a center player.
5- It seems that the Canes would want to trade Suzuki, in order to improve their situation in goal.
If we add up all these points, it's true that a trade seems very logical between the CH and the Canes involving Suzuki and, let's say, a goaltender like Jake Allen.
Would you do it?
IN MONTREAL:
Ryan Suzuki
IN CAROLINA:
Jake Allen
Suzuki, 22 years old, is a 6-foot center who was drafted in the 1st round in 2019 by the Hurricanes. He has accumulated 40 points in his last 64 AHL games (15 goals) and has never had his chance in the NHL.
He could be the perfect example of a "B" category prospect that Kent Hughes could target for Jake Allen. And imagine if Suzuki blossoms with his brother in Montreal!
Anyway, it's an interesting possibility. Would you do it?
An employee of RDS and Sportlogiq, namely Billy P. Bertrand, agrees.
« The Habs are a bit thin at center with Dvorak's absence.
Ryan Suzuki plays center, but he is stuck behind Aho, KK, and Staal.
The Hurricanes need a goaltender. I'm just saying. »
