During the last few seconds, just minutes after the trade involving Erik Karlsson and defenseman Jeff Petry, the Arizona Coyotes announced the signing of Matt Dumba.
A one-year contract worth 4 million dollars.
More details to come.
Dumba, 29, was drafted 7th overall (1st round) in 2012. He is a robust defenseman who scored 14 goals and 50 points in 2018, and 22 points in 32 games in 2019, but only 14 in 79 last season.
Were the Coyotes in discussions to acquire Petry? Were they waiting for the resolution of the "EK65" case before settling Dumba?
