Last night on TVA Sports, insider Renaud Lavoie shared exclusive information he obtained from very reliable sources about the Montreal Canadiens' goaltenders.

Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau sent to waivers?

We can officially forget about that idea.

Yes, Kent Hughes wants to resolve this issue, yes, he wants to finish the year with two goaltenders, yes, he wants Samuel Montembeault to be able to play much more often, but he will not do it by giving away a goaltender for free (or almost free).

He is smarter than that.

In his last ten starts, Allen has won only one game, recording a goals-against average of 3.92 and a save percentage of .885. This has led experts to discuss waivers for him (and for Primeau), but forget about that idea.

This was confirmed by Renaud Lavoie.

«There are many people who think that the solution would be to place Jake Allen on waivers, but what I'm told is that it's not going to happen. It's not a situation that will happen because it would decrease the player's value.»

Consider that official.

«This matter will be resolved through a trade, but I don't know how. One thing is for sure, Jake Allen to Laval, forget about it!» - Renaud Lavoie

It will happen through a trade, not waivers. (and that's a good thing)

More to come as we approach the trade deadline!
