MAJOR: Blockbuster Trade Nearly Went Down on Draft Day Involving David Reinbacher and the Philadelphia Flyers
In the last few hours, we have had a major transaction between the Anaheim Ducks and the Philadelphia Flyers involving the 5th overall pick Cutter Gauthier.
And well we have something new involving the Montreal Canadiens and it's very interesting. It comes from one of the best journalists covering the Flyers.
"I heard a rumor they quietly shopped Gauthier back at the draft, & it was one of the things I was chasing today.
Can now confirm yes, Gauthier was shopped. They tried to swap him for the No. 5 pick, presumably to take David Reinbacher & ensure Michkov got to 7 too. MTL passed». WOW! So the Flyers offered this to the Habs.
TO PHILADELPHIA:
5th overall pick - David Reinbacher
TO MONTREAL:
Cutter Gauthier
