In the past few hours, social media has been abuzz with the news that Kent Hughes was engaged in serious discussions to conclude a trade with the Arizona Coyotes.
We now have the details and finally know what trade the Canadiens were trying to make:
"Visuals were shown of Kent Hughes discussing with Bill Armstrong of the Arizona Coyotes. The Montreal Canadiens were trying to obtain another third-round pick, without success.
The identified player was Mathieu Cataford, I am told. He was ultimately drafted by Vegas." - Renaud Lavoie
Interesting.
Cataford, an 18-year-old Quebecer, accumulated 75 points (31 goals) in 68 games this season with the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL.
