For several weeks, numerous rumors have circulated suggesting that goaltender Carter Hart could be traded by the Philadelphia Flyers.
He is obviously a goaltender who would greatly interest Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
Asked about this by a Philosophy journalist, Briere has indeed just confirmed that he will consider a trade involving the young goaltender.
I am not in a position to refuse anything, I have to listen.
Daniel Briere said on WIP this morning that Carter Hart «would most likely be our goalie of the future.»
"Now, I'm not in a position to turn down anything. If there's teams calling about him, we have to listen. That's my job as a general manager, I have to listen. I have to do what is best for the team and the organization.»
This will certainly be a big issue to watch this summer.
Hart remains a 24-year-old goaltender with immense potential who will interest many clubs. One can imagine that any trade offer involving him will have to, at a minimum, include a prospect and a first-round pick.
We commend the new GM Briere for his transparency! He should receive several calls during the draft!
