David Pagnotta has even confirmed that Kent Hughes and Ken Holland have recently negotiated.
In short, there's new development today.
The Oilers are determined to get rid of Campbell's contract via trade, to free up salary cap space. And one of the few NHL teams that can afford this addition is the Montreal Canadiens.
According to Darren Dreger (TSN), Edmonton is willing to give former top 1st round pick Philip Broberg to a team that would take Jack Campbell's contract.
Broberg, 22 years old, is an 8th overall pick (1st round) in 2019. He has played 10 games this season in the NHL and has accumulated 4 points in 8 games in the AHL.
Campbell, 31 years old, is an 11th overall pick (1st round) in 2010. He is signed for 4 seasons at 5 million per year.
