Incredible but true.

Even in 2024, one of the big issues to watch for with the Montreal Canadiens will still be the upcoming resolution of the famous goalie trio in front of the net.

Despite what Kent Hughes said at the beginning of the season, we are in January and the Habs still have three goalies who are not playing enough.

Yet, many teams have serious needs in goal, including the Oilers, Maple Leafs, Hurricanes, Devils, Kraken, and others.

Elliotte Friedman has new information on Jake Allen

The well-known Sportsnet insider actually talked about the veteran CH goaltender in his most recent podcast and he provided some interesting information.

The podcast has just been released!

Friedman reveals that he doesn't believe Kent Hughes is asking for an extremely high price for Jake Allen.

«I don't think Allen's price is as high as Gibson's in Anaheim.» - Elliotte Friedman

The New Jersey Devils are still in the race and have interesting assets to offer.

He adds that, in his opinion, the General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens is playing his cards well because other clubs can't guess his plan.

Certainly, Kent Hughes continues to work behind the scenes and we must trust him. His asking price doesn't seem unreasonable, and he's right not to just give away Allen or Primeau, just because he's eager for the goalie trio to end.

Allen earns a salary of $3.85 million per season, and his contract ends at the end of the 2024-2025 season.

Do you believe he will be traded within 2-3 weeks? Do you think it's him who should go, or Cayden Primeau?
