BREAKING: big surprise on NHL waivers and a trade involving a goaltender has just been proposed
In the last few minutes, the Colorado Avalanche has caused a surprise by placing young goaltender Ivan Prosvetov on NHL waivers.
He was their number two and was having a good season, but the Colorado GM has never hidden the fact that he would prefer to have a veteran goalie as number two behind Alexandar Georgiev. (27 years old)
Prosvetov on waivers and a veteran goalie traded to Colorado to replace him?
This is an announcement that has set off rumors and speculation on the web.
Is the Avalanche preparing a trade and the acquisition of a veteran goalie?
Could it involve someone like Jake Allen? It's suddenly a big file to watch over the next few hours.
Stay tuned!
Prosvetov, 24, is a large goalie at 6 feet 5 inches and 200 pounds. He has a goals-against average of 3.16 this season with the Avalanche and a save percentage close to 0.900. (in 11 games)
He has a similar profile to a certain Cayden Primeau, so it will be really interesting to see if he will be claimed (or not) on waivers. The answer tomorrow at 2 PM.
