Acquisition coming to the Canadiens: Kent Hughes on the verge of signing a Quebecer in the next few minutes with forward Daniel Walcott?
It's officially the day of the NHL free agent market opening, a very big day for the NHL, and information is already beginning to surface, particularly concerning Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
According to the excellent Anthony Marcotte of BPM Sports, the CH is interested in Daniel Walcott, a Quebecer forward/defender currently in the Tampa Bay Lightning organization.
So don't be surprised if the CH announces his signing in the next few minutes.
Walcott, 29 years old, will become an unrestricted free agent after eight years with the Lightning. His combative profile and his 32 points in 67 games make him interesting for the CH.
A file to follow today. This one and several others.
