Acquisition alert: two players, including one promising youngster, have just been claimed off waivers by the Penguins and the Predators
In the last few minutes, the verdict has been reached for the players placed on NHL waivers yesterday.
Notably, there were Lias Andersson and Philippe Maillet (Montreal Canadiens) who were not claimed, but two other players were claimed, including a promising youngster that we really like.
Firstly, Samuel Fagemo.
He was claimed by the Nashville Predators.
In our opinion, he was the most interesting player on waivers. He is still very promising, only 23 years old, and he has been productive in the AHL.
Fagemo is a 2nd round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2019, he accumulated 13 points, including 8 goals, in 7 games during his notable presence at the World Junior Hockey Championship.
He added 94 points in three seasons in the AHL and 3 points in the NHL.
Also, the Pittsburgh Penguins claimed Jansen Harkins.
Harkins, 26, had a strong training camp in 2023 with the Jets.
He accumulated 50 points in 44 games in the AHL last season. He is ready to step up and play in the NHL. (He has already accumulated 27 career points in the NHL)
More details to follow.
