Kent Hughes Has a Clear Plan for When Florian Xhekaj Will Return to the Canadiens

Last week, we learned that young forward Florian Xhekaj was cut by Kent Hughes and his staff, and will start the season in Laval.

That said, the excellent Marco D'Amico reports that the Montreal Canadiens already have a clear plan in place for Florian Xhekaj's eventual return to the NHL.
The plan was always for him to start the season in Laval.

The team already believed Kapanen was the youngster most ready to make the jump, and used him jn favourable situations accordingly.

So everything was planned in advance.
"Florian was always destined for Laval, Pascal Vincent already had a full plan on how to use him this year.
They just wanted a closer look at him, just like Beck and Engstrom.

When will Florian Xhekaj return to the NHL?
According to what Martin St-Louis recently said in a press conference, the plan is for the young Xhekaj to play a few NHL games this season - if the opportunity arises and if he shows he's ready.
MSL: "Yeah the deadline of the start of the season is a deadline but the League keeps going. Let's say he doesn't win that race, it doesn't mean he lost the race - there's still a race out there"

What we know is that Kent Hughes has already internally decided when Florian Xhekaj will rejoin the Montreal Canadiens, barring any unforeseen circumstances and all signs point to that moment being toward the end of the regular season!
That said, we're already looking forward to seeing him in action with the Laval Rocket over the next few weeks!
