While some Montreal Canadiens players are off to a good start this season, like Sean Monahan, Tanner Pearson, and Brendan Gallagher, the same cannot be said for Josh Anderson, despite being used on one of the top two lines and also on the first power play unit.

However, it's still early in the season, but there are concerns about the production of number 17, as well as his line mates, Alex Newhook and Juraj Slafkovsky.

With this difficult start to the season, could Kent Hughes consider trading Josh Anderson?

This is the question asked by reporter Marc-Olivier Beaudoin, via his account X.

As also reported by Charles-Alexis Brisebois of Danslescoulisses.com, the possibility of trading the CH's big winger should be seriously considered if things don't improve for him.

But there's also a factor mentioned by the columnist, that Martin St-Louis's system doesn't really fit with the type of player Josh Anderson is. The Canadiens' head coach still puts him in winning situations, but number 17 seems to be struggling on the ice at the start of this season.

Obviously, his name will come up in trade rumors in the coming weeks, but his contract, earning him 5.5 million dollars annually until 2027, makes him less attractive to other NHL executives.

For now, the season is still young and Anderson could turn things around at any moment, but if this doesn't happen soon, it's likely that Kent Hughes will become active on the phone.
