Three Players Placed on Waivers, Including Two Former Canadiens Forwards

We have more action on the NHL waiver wire, and it's an interesting situation for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens. As Marc-Olivier Beaudoin rightly points out, given that the Habs are likely to trade some forwards in the coming weeks-such as Christian Dvorak, Jake Evans, Joel Armia, and others, they must already be thinking about replacements.
According to many, Kent Hughes should claim a forward who is currently available for free, and I must admit that I like the idea.
This has just been announced.
«Santeri Hattaka (New Jersey), Anthony Richard (Philadelphia) and Colin White (San Jose) placed on waivers.»
- Elliotte Friedman, Sportsnet
Richard's name, a former Montreal Canadien, is certainly the most interesting one in my humble opinion.
Yes, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton should claim him.
«Anthony Richard is on waivers as the Flyers want to take a look at
Jakob Pelletier.»
- Jordan Hall, Philadelphia journalist
This will be a situation to monitor in the coming hours.
Anthony Richard, 28 years old, is a forward who has put up a solid 14 points in 39 NHL games, including six goals. (74 points in 77 AHL games over the past two seasons)
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he is better than
Michael Pezzetta.
Colin White, also 28 years old, is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward who was drafted in the first round by the Ottawa Senators in 2015 (21st overall pick). White also played for the Canadiens in the 2023-24 season.
He has 113 points in 323 career NHL games, but 41 of those 113 points came in his rookie season in 2018-2019.
Santeri Hattaka is a 24-year-old left-shot defenseman with 4 points in 21 NHL games.
