In the past few minutes, the NHL's Department of Player Safety has finally woken up.
It's sad to say it like that, but that's exactly what it is.
After being completely silent since the start of the playoffs, especially during the series between the Montreal Canadiens and the Washington Capitals, the discipline chief is finally taking action.
A sanction will finally be imposed by the NHL. It remains to be seen whether it will be a fine or a suspension, but as you can guess, this is sparking debate among Canadiens fans and journalists.
"Nicolas Roy will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety for this cross-check on
Trent Frederic."
And the official confirmation:
It's frustrating because the Washington Capitals players got off scot-free for very similar cross-checks to the faces of Montreal Canadiens players.
All of these actions are very similar to what Nicolas Roy did, yet they went completely unpunished.
Yes, this recent announcement from the NHL is stirring things up among Canadiens fans and journalists - and for good reason.
And you, what's your take on all this?
