The NHL is buzzing today with the news of Sean Monahan's trade, and now, a waiver submission by the New York Islanders.
Quebec forward Julien Gauthier has just been placed on waivers by Patrick Roy's organization.
At 26 years old, this first-round pick from 2016 has accumulated 19 goals and 41 points in 180 NHL career games.
Interest from the Canadiens in his services?
Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 226 pounds, he is a significant presence who could be an interesting addition to the last two lines of the Montreal Canadiens.
Given that the club might trade other players in the coming weeks, including Tanner Pearson, Gauthier could easily position himself as an interesting replacement in Martin St-Louis' lineup.
He earns $787,500 per year until 2025.
Gauthier will know his fate tomorrow, from 2 p.m.
